Nikon D40

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , at 9:44 pm by Melanie

I’m really excited to purchase my Nikon D40 this week.

There’s always been something about photography for me, something that ignites passion within me. I love planning the perfect shot. The angles, the lighting, ISO speed, and saturation…all for one single picture. To immortalize one single moment in time.

But it’s worth it, God created beauty for us to preserve and admire it.

And I plan to do it.

“If I try and save my life, I will lose it…”

I’m sick of do’s and dont’s.

I’m more sick of people telling me who to talk to and when, what is lady like and what isn’t. It’s all relative and I can’t live my life according to your standards or your expectations of me. It just isn’t right.

I’m a “grown up” now and it’s my life and not yours.

But by far, the most insufferable thing is being told what to believe in. I don’t believe in words or classifications. I believe in a god that is bigger than the air I breathe, who loves and supplies for me. That’s enough for me. It has to be. Believing in God is what saved my life. If not for Him, I’d be od’ed on the side of the road by now. But He saved and redeemed me so I’m not.

I’m done apologizing for my so-called “radical Christianity”. There is nothing radical about what I’m doing. I’m living my life by the Bible, that’s what all Christians are meant to do. I’m running hard for the next 10 years and not looking back. Then, I’ll see if it was worth it or not. But I have faith that it will be.

“If I try and save my life, I will lose it
But if I lose my life for Your sake
I’ll find it in the end..”
